I wonder if some people forget that My Hero Academia does not take place in America nor during this time period.
Its so silly to compere what is happening in bnha rn n what is happening in america at large, aside from it being completely tone deaf and insensitive. Cops in america are killing marginilized groups for no other reason then racisam and prejudice. Bnha heroes are REACTING to villain attacks and civillian endangerment. Its apples and oranges. Yes heroes are using force you know why? Its not cuz police brutality its cuz a terrorist showed up with nukes. Literally what else are they supposed to do but minimize the damege as quickly as possible and that wont happen if they let shigaraki run around destroying things while they wring their hands and ask him about his feelings and his sad backstory. You take that motherfucker down and once his quirk is neutralized THAN maybe you can listen safely but war ground really isnt the time for that. Sometimes you just gotta punch a bastard in the face god knows where we would be as a society if every time someone threatend genocide we went but guys ;^; hes saaaaaad.
Just because ur sad dont mean u can kill other people Sweetie go get sum fuckin therapy.
And as you said before heroes really arent to blame for most of the league. Like hero systhem is to blame for Dabi and MAYBE shigaraki tho im still not tottally convinced afo hadnt messed with that whole sittuation. Heroes have a very specific role in society.
Villains ATTACK.
Heroes REACT.
They arent really there to snip the start of villany in the bud, that would more fall on social workers, therapists, school systhems etc etc who should be recognizing signs of people falling through the net and trying to prevent it. Now there is a point to be made about society relying on heroes too much and therefor concentrating more on reacting rather then preventing but that is nit directly heroes fault and is something that needs to be adressed on a wider scale
^^^ Exactly!
The situations are different which is why I feel it’s disingenuous to compare them.
There’s also the fact that BNHA is still a battle manga and it would be strange not to see fighting in some way or form so even those complaints seem to fall flat.
